Security Consultant

Salary/Rate: £65,000 - £75,000

Security Consultant,

As a Security Consultant you will be working with the Information Security team to deliver security solutions to our customer base.

You will deliver a variety of security projects, including helping our customers to implement security controls, assessing against the Cyber Essentials certification, creating assessment reports and improving organisations security position.

This role will be customer facing requiring a keen eye for detail and proven ability of delivering Information Security good practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifying steps that organisations need to take to improve their security position and supporting them through the process.
Investigating and advising on security incidents.
Assessing an organisations current position against Security standards such as Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001.
Writing Information Security reports and delivering the findings to key stakeholders.
Assisting with delivering a continuous assessment of current security practices and systems and identifying areas for improvement.
Carrying out Internal Audits to ensure that security controls are effective.
Creating reports on Information Security areas including status reports and Incident reports.
Scheduling and completing vulnerability scans.
Assisting with the pro-active monitoring of systems and handling and communicating security alerts.
Carry out other security related duties and administration as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge and experience with technology, security and DP related compliance, legal & regulatory frameworks and standards, including Cyber Essentials, ISO27001, PCI DSS, OWASP, GDPR etc.
Ability to demonstrate expert knowledge and understanding of information security good practice.
Experience in working with technical and non-technical business personnel at various levels, articulating security risks in a manner appropriate to the stakeholders.
Previous experience in delivering security awareness related activity.
Previous experience in third party assurance activities.
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of Information Security principles and concepts and knowledge of technical security controls such as antivirus and firewalls.
Well organised, proactive and has excellent troubleshooting skills
Information Security certifications such as CISSP or OSCP are beneficial.
While this role is remote, you will need to be available on occasion to go on-site.
